The University of Bristol’s School of Physics seeks an outstanding candidate for a permanent academic appointment in the field of electronic materials, devices and/or systems.
Existing activity in this area is focused around power and microwave/RF semiconductor electronic materials and devices, and work is conducted within the collaborative and supportive environment of the Centre for Device Thermography and Reliability (CDTR).
Areas of particular interest are power electronics including materials, device design, electrical device characterization, device fabrication, and device use in systems involving wide or ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors, though other areas will also be seriously considered.
The CDTR’s achievements have recently been highlighted by the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) Chair in Emerging Technologies awarded to Professor Kuball in 2020, on next generation power electronic devices using ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors.
The appointee will establish an internationally leading independent research programme which complements or strengthens the CDTR areas.
They will demonstrate a strong commitment to securing grant funding.
Additionally, they will deliver excellence in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and undertake administrative duties as appropriate for the role.
