Job number - ACAD104472
Division/School - Bristol Veterinary School
Contract type - Open Ended
Working pattern - Full time
Salary - Competitive Salary Plus Benefits
Closing date for applications - 7th April 2020
The University of Bristol is seeking to appoint a Head of our Vet School who can provide inspirational leadership, enabling the School to develop further its excellent education and research.
The right candidate for this key leadership position within the Faculty will have a strategic vision for the School, as well as for the School’s role within the University, the city region, the UK and internationally.
The Head of School will have a deep commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and understand and be ready to champion the benefits of diversifying the current and future pipeline of talent – staff and students – across the Vet School.
They will have a track record of excellent partnership working – both within their institution with academic and professional services staff, and externally (including in particular with veterinary practices and national and international professional bodies).
They will be able to lead on and drive forward change within the School and the wider University.
Bristol Vet School is one of 8 Veterinary Schools in the UK, and is only the fourth in the country to hold both RCVS and AVMA accreditation for its BVSc (undergraduate) programme.
These are exciting times for the School.
A new graduate entry route to BVSc qualification was launched in 2019 and has proved very popular; at the same time, we have made investments in new academic posts to build on successes in research in antimicrobial resistance, animal welfare and behaviour, and global food security.
The closing date for applications is 11.59pm on Tuesday 7th April 2020.
Interviews are anticipated to take place on Friday 1st May 2020.
To discuss the role, please contact Prof Jane Norman, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (firstname.lastname@example.org).
We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
