Full job title: Teagasc Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 (PD1) / Level 2 (PD2) - Gender and Organisational Development- (Ref. PD1/2/GS/0319)
Basic Function of the post:
The Gender-SMART (Science Management of Agriculture & Life Sciences, including Research and Training) work programme focuses on developing a gender equality culture and implementing Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) in the partner organisations.
Teagasc will work with nine EU partners across the work packages of Gender-SMART to develop GEPs tailored to each organisation and integrate a gender perspective in research.
Duties & Responsibilities specific to this project:
Undertake a review of the relevant literature to contribute to the design, development and implementation of gender equality plans in Teagasc and across the Gender-SMART consortium.
Undertake collaborative and participatory approaches to develop practice oriented knowledge to support gender equality plan design and implementation.
Develop an approach and framework to collate and manage gender related data in Teagasc.
Organise meetings and workshops nationally and internationally.
Prepare draft financial and scientific reports periodically for submission to the European Commission.
Assist in the implementation of a gender equality plan in Teagasc and embedding a gender equality culture across the Gender-SMART consortium.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
Interpret research findings and prepare scientific and popular press publications.
Disseminate research findings to a variety of audiences as appropriate.
Assist Teagasc in meeting the commitments of the Quality Customer Service Charter and action plan.
Comply with all relevant Teagasc policies and procedures.
Actively participate in the Teagasc Post Doctoral Fellowship programme and review processes, and to undertake all Post Doctoral fellowship training and
associated duties as agreed in the Training & Development Plan.
Fully co-operate with the provisions made for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of themselves, fellow staff and non-Teagasc staff and co-operate with
management in enabling Teagasc to comply with legal obligations. This includes full compliance with the responsibilities outlined in the Safety Statement.
Take up additional duties as may arise or as assigned by management.
PhD in gender studies or related discipline.
Relevant research experience not to exceed 3 years post-PhD.
Experience in applied gender research and organisational change.
Experience in setting own research agenda.
