Full or Associate Professor or Media and Communication Studies (full time)
The University of St. Gallen seeks to appoint a Professor of Media and Communication Studies within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) from February 1st, 2020.
The successful candidate will investigate the role of media in the interplay between state, economy and private sphere.
Possible research specialisms include theories of digital transformation, the analysis of communication networks, forms of production and organisation of social media, trans-medial convergence, and media aesthetics.
She or he will co-direct the "Media" concentration in the Contextual Studies programme (www.unisg.ch/en/studium/darumhsg/kontextstudium), and will be committed to interdisciplinary research and teaching, and will cooperate with colleagues in the University's main disciplines.
The languages of instruction are German and English.
Candidates must have a PhD, first rate publications, and outstanding university teaching experience.
The teaching requirement is 8 hours a week (approximately 2-3 courses) per semester.
