Vacancy Description

The CRUK Cancer Therapeutics Unit (CTU) is a major component of the Division of Cancer Therapeutics at the ICR and is a multidisciplinary 'bench to bedside' centre, comprising around 150 staff dedicated to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. We are one of the largest academic cancer drug discovery groups in the world and, since 2010, 10 drugs discovered by CTU scientists, either alone or in collaboration with a commercial partner, have been progressed to clinical trials. Our drug abiraterone has been approved in the US, Canada and Europe for late stage prostate cancer.

The primary objective of this Assistant Laboratory Manager position is to support the DCT laboratory manager in the safe and efficient running of laboratories within within the Division of Cancer Therapeutics (DCT) including the Cancer Therapeutics Unit (CTU).

The successful applicant will hold a first degree in a scientific subject, ideally relevant to the ICR’s function (biology, chemistry, physics, pharmacology or similar). Tasks will include arrange euipment repairs and maintenance, assist with lab refurbishment, space management and Health and Safety matters.
