Contract Research Officer – ICT-AGRI ERA-NET Project Manager (Ref: CRO/AGRI/OP/0518) (Externally Funded Non Grant-in-Aid)

Basic Function:
To implement the EU-funded ICT-AGRI 2 ERA-NET project. In particular to develop and implement a joint funding call amongst the funding agencies involved; to organise a networking event between funded projects, to produce a booklet summarising outputs from funded projects and to contribute to overall project management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the determination of call topics and procedures for the ERA-NET’s joint funding call.
• Assist in launch of the funding call, including preparation of call materials, responding to queries from applicants etc.
• Organise a meeting of projects which the ICT-AGRI ERA-NET has already funded.
• Prepare a booklet on ICT-AGRI funded projects.
• Develop a plan in collaboration with the project partners for continued cooperation after the end of the ERA-NET.
• Coordinate Teagasc reporting to the project coordinator and the European Commission.
• Contribute to the overall coordination of the ERA-NET consortium, including the organisation of consortium meetings (this post may involve considerable travel both within Ireland and across Europe).
• Assist Teagasc in meeting the commitments of the Quality Customer Service charter and action plan.
• Actively participate in the annual business planning and Performance Management Development System (PMDS) processes.

Person Specification

Essential
• Candidates must have an honours Level 8 degree in Science, ICT, Agriculture, Engineering or Business or a related discipline.

Desirable
• A postgraduate degree and/or research experience in Science, ICT, Agriculture, Engineering or Business.
